Unbolt the two axle pinch bolts on the right hand side fork. Then, unscrew the axle and remove it from the forks, while holding up the wheel. Lay the wheel aside. Now, remove the front Fender.
While holding each fork individually, unbolt the fork triple tree bolts and carefully remove each fork from the triple tree and lay aside.
Pry off both of the black plastic fork protectors from the forks. These will not be reused. Then slide each Fork Gaiter onto each fork as shown and only tie off the lower tie strap provided with the Fork Gaiters. Then pull up on the Fork Gaiter until it is flush with the bottom of the lower triple tree bracket and then put on the remaining tie wrap.
If, you want, you can also purchase another set of Fork Gaiters and completely cover the rear shocks. It is very difficult to put on since they are a tight fit, but once on, they do look good. You will need to use some paint to cover the tops and bottoms of the shocks, if you want to completely hide the Silver Chrome.
Completed install of both Fork Gaiters. Reinstall the Front Fender, Wheel, Axle, Axle Pinch Bolts and Remount the Brake Caliper.
If you want, you can also purchase another set of Fork Gaiters to install on the upper section of the Fork Tubes, between the upper and lower Triple Tree Brackets.
Finished modification with three sets of Fork Gaiters.
