Fault Code No.: 13     Diagnostic Code No.: 03

Note: If Fault Code Nos. "13" and "14" are both indicated, take the actions specified for Fault
       Code No. "13", first.


Item: Intake Air Pressure Sensor: Open or Short circuit detected.

Fail-Safe System: Able to Start Engine   |   Able to Drive Vehicle

Indicated: Displays the Intake Air Pressure

Procedure: Set the Engine Stop Switch to "RUN" and then operate the throttle while pushing the Start Switch.
                  If the display value changes, the performance is OK.

Connection of Intake Air Pressure Sensor Coupler.

C
heck the locking condition of the coupler.

Disconnect the coupler and check the pins (bent or broken terminals and locking condition of the pins.
Improperly connected

Connect the coupler securely or replace the wire harness.
Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however,
the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 2 below.

Connection of ECU Coupler.

Check the locking condition of the coupler.

Disconnect the couple and check the pins (bent or broken terminals and locking condition of the pins.
Improperly connected

Connect the coupler securely or replace the wire harness.
Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however, the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 3 below.

Connection of Sub-Wire Harness Coupler.

Check the locking condition of the coupler.

Disconnect the couple and check the pins (bent or broken terminals and locking condition of the pins.
Improperly connected

Connect the coupler securely or replace the wire harness.
Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however, the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 4 below.

Wire Harness continuity.
If there is an Open or Short Circuit, Replace the Wire Harness.

Between
Intake Air Pressure Sensor Coupler and ECU Coupler (Pink/White-Pink/White)

Between Intake Air Pressure Sensor Coupler and
Joint Coupler
(Blue-Blue) and

(Black/Blue-Black/Blue)

Between Joint Coupler and ECU Coupler
(Blue-Blue) and
(Black/Blue-Black/Blue)

Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however, the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 5 below.

Installed condition of Intake Air Pressure Sensor.

Check for looseness or pinching.
Improperly installed Sensor

Reinstall or Replace the Sensor.
Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however, the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 6 below.

Defective Intake Air Pressure Sensor.
Execute the Diagnostic Mode (Code No. 03).

When engine is stopped: Atmospheric Pressure at the current altitude and weather conditions are indicated.

At sea level;
1000m (3300 ft.):
Approx. 90 kPa
(675.1 mmHg, 26.6 inHg)

2000m (6700 ft.):
Approx. 80 kPa
(600.0 mmHg, 23.6 inHg)

3000m (9800 ft.):
Approx. 70 kPa
(525.0 mmHg, 20.7 inHg)

When engine is cranking,
make sure that the indication value changes.

If the value does not change when engine is cranking, then check the Intake Air Pressure Sensor and replace if defective.

Turn the Main Switch to "ON".

If, the Fault Code No. is NOT displayed, then Service is Complete.


If however, the Fault Code No. is displayed, then Go To Item 7 below.
